#1. SHIRL: NEW UPDATE

Praise God’s faithful healing hand! Since the successful surgery to remove fluid from her brain, Shirl continues to be healing really well! She has one more PT treatment and is doing fine. Shirl and hubby Bruce are grateful for your prayer support!

 

#2. MICHELLE: NEW UPDATE

To God be the glory! Continuing with her long-term immunotherapy treatments for allergies, asthma/breathing, Michelle’s sense of smell has returned far more (almost total)! Thank you, prayer warriors—she cherishes your continued prayers.

 

#3. I.B.: NEW UPDATE

God’s kindness moves our hearts! Since beginning the unique treatment for bladder cancer, I.B. has had little or no side effects! Please lift her up in prayer because this is a longer-term treatment. And as a Jew, may she come to know her Jewish Messiah, Yeshua, who loves her deeply.

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Request: Since our January 26 S.O.S. text prayer for Marc (37)—whose heart stopped after a drug overdose and who was hospitalized—he, against doctor’s orders, discharged himself from the hospital only to again be transported to ICU via ambulance. He now has pneumonia in both lungs, and his heart isn’t producing enough oxygen. With addiction taking a deeper hold, he has become quite angry, choosing to be estranged from the family who loves him.

Prayer: God’s heart cutting through the darkness. His holiness casting down strongholds. Abba, we lay Marc before you. His defiance and apparent desire to cling to the demonic stronghold caging him need your intervention. Please call to his soul, to the pit of his being, and awaken him to his spiritual and physical condition in a way that moves him so he asks you to free him. Call him to LIFE in you. And please through it all, protect the family, sheltering them on all sides from his disturbing behavior and sometimes frightening or aggressive actions. In Jesus’s mighty name.

The Lord is my shepherd, I will not be in need . . . He restores my soul.

Request: Steve’s wife, Yeshi, is in the hospital, in grave condition, on life support with no medical intervention. They are believers and have two children.

Prayer: God’s mercies, gentle presence, and comfort. Father, all life is in your hands. Please release your Holy Spirit to bathe Yeshi in your goodness, your shalom, your healing. Wrap your arms around her, let your Word rise within her and your love and will be released. And may your comfort embrace Steve and their children in this difficult time. May they be strengthened by your Presence. In Jesus’s sweet name.

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.

Request: There are many issues on all fronts for Zion. But this prayer focus is on the hostages: those released, to be released, remaining after the cease fire.

Prayer: God’s presence. His righteousness and deliverance. Adonai, El Shaddai, may your mercies be with each one. Meet them in the dark tunnels where they are kept, in the inhumane treatment, in the extreme lack of food or medical help, in the hopelessness. And for those released, walk with them along the long, difficult road to acclimation to “normal” life again. Soothe the emotional triggers, the PTSD, the sounds/sights that frighten them in their minds and around them. Please draw them closer so they sense your presence, find comfort in your Word, and lead them to complete and true freedom: Yeshua. In His glorious, saving name.

Psalm 42:1

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for you, God.

Request: Toni, a longtime believer in Yeshua, is battling a few health issues that are not easy to deal with on a daily basis. For years, she’s had migraines, but they are now increasing to the point where it’s making her highly concerned. She also hungers to be drawn even closer to the Lord.

Prayer: God’s grace, mercy, nurturing. Mighty King, please stretch out your arm and draw Toni closer to your chest. Let her rest there, embraced by your presence, healing, love. Let her hear your heart beat for her. And may you cause these migraines to subside, give her relief from the pain and still the fears in her mind and soul. Hold your daughter throughout each day and night, singing words of comfort and deliverance. In Yeshua’s gentle, precious name.

I cried to the Lord in my trouble, and He answered me.

Request: Sharon’s husband recently died unexpectedly at home from a heart attack. Sharon and her son, Douglas (who is on the spectrum), need God’s presence, wisdom, comfort.

Prayer: God’s hand clearing the way. Emmanuel, God with us, spread your wings of protection over Sharon and Douglas. Ease the path for them. Please let your calming Holy Spirit rest on Douglas, dissipating the anger and outbursts. Breathe your Word of love and strength over and through Sharon, now and the challenging months ahead. In Jesus’s faithful name.

You are my God, and I give thanks to You; You are my God, I exalt You.

Request: For quite some time, Roger has suffered with stomach and knee issues (hard to walk). He’s recently undergone various diagnostics to determine and address the gastric issues and another concerning matter: lumps in his arm. He needs God’s help and comfort.

Prayer: God’s grace and healing. Lord, our Great Physician, please step in and heal where others have failed. Bring forth the answers and right treatments—unless you choose to speak healing supernaturally. Sit with Roger so he knows you are with him, guiding, revealing, loving on him. And for those deep needs within him that no one can see or knows but you, please breathe deliverance and strength. Be glorified, our King. In Yeshua’s blessed name.

My salvation and my glory rest on God; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people. Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us.

Request: Tony, 86, is ill with kidney issues—they’re functioning at 14%. If they go any lower, he must be put on dialysis.

Prayer: God, our hope. God, our shelter. Sweet King who sees and cares for His people, please stretch out your hand and send healing to Tony, reviving his kidneys and restoring normal function. Keep him alert, nourished, hydrated, and surrounded by those who love and care for him. May your presence bless his soul and give his restful, restorative sleep. In Jesus’s healing name.

Request: Arly has had complications from a hysterectomy and enduring much pain. She needs God’s intervention for healing.

Prayer: God’s mercy and restoration. Adonai, you and you along hold us, care for us. Please spread your merciful wings and cover Arly, releasing your healing, giving her comfort, full relief from the pain, and your voice nurturing her soul through the process. Please give her doctors understanding and guide them in medical excellence to help her. And may she come to know her Jewish Messiah and rejoice at what you’ve done to bless her. On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.

Request: While working on her nursing degree and caring for her hubby and four children, Mary recently started a home care job with flexible hours. It certainly will help with concerning fiscal needs. But she needs prayer caring for the dementia patients at the facility who can become quite combative.

Prayer: God’s protection and abundant provisions. King of Heaven and all creation, thank you for blessing Mary with this job. Please continue to watch over her children, every family need, every part of her nursing studies, and every hour on the job. Surround her with angelic protection and discernment to know how to respond in each situation. Shield Mary and her family in your holiness. In the blessed name of Jesus.

Prayer: Smooth the waters. Clear the path amid the rapids. Blessed Redeemer, walk across the waves and hold your daughter. Lead her and teach her how to ride the rapids of life, protected in your hand, guided by your Word, and always ensconced by your love. May she and her daughter find a calm and rest within and without because of your presence and your Holy Spirit’s counsel and gentleness. Request: God’s hand has been on Michael, who we’ve prayed for before. He’s doing better regarding his long-term troubling health conditions and their effects on his spiritual, emotional, mental life. But more prayer support is needed.

Prayer:Full deliverance. God’s continual covering. Abba, may your Light arise and flood Michael with your hope, healing, deliverance, and Word. May healing from your throne pour over him, reviving his soul. And may every spiritual stronghold be demolished, every taunting of the enemy, silenced and removed. But right now, the love task before our King is a return to reverence . . . of Him, for Him. It begins with a bowed soul posture, repentance, daily surrender, and a trembling of His Word (Isaiah 66:2). That helps our spiritual ears and eyes stay sensitive to His still, quiet-like voice and heavenly leading.

 

Call to Him from the secret place of your soul, inviting Him into the untouched, fallow ground, hidden crevices. Cry out to be cleansed and stripped of self-focus. Pant after Him, honoring His Name and glory. Seek His face with a humbled heart, willing to battle in prayer in new ways for the critical hour of human history we are in.

 

Because Yah [the LORD, the GREAT I AM] is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.—Exodus 15:2.

Prayer Warriors: Please pray for a fellow prayer team member’s family and all those involved! Benny’s brother and sister are being evacuated due to the fires in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena. As of this writing, the now three major wildfires—the Palisades Fire, the Eaton Fire and the Hurst Fire—are raging with 0% contained.

PRAYER. Abba, the life-threatening winds are frightening and compounding things. Please stretch out your Glory hand of protection and shelter them and every one of the 30,000+ and growing who are being forced to leave their homes. Guard their lungs and bodies, the young, the old, and the infirmed. Keep people calm and compliant so medical and fire teams can get through traffic and other highways quickly, efficiently, and safely. May your mighty hand also rest on every first responder and all medical and fire teams. Please deliver wisdom and understanding to every leader so there are safe passages, and help leaders know how to handle the aftermath. And please shelter the animals, Father, your creation. Mighty King of Israel, we bow before your greatness, humbled by your majesty, your glory, your radiant robes that fill the throne room. Holy One of Israel, please stretch out your glory tallit over your people and nation Israel, over your city, Jerusalem, the apple of your eye, over every hostage, family members, Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu (for the heavy task you’ve appointed and anointed him for), governmental and military leaders and military personnel on all levels.

Gather them in your arms, speak words of comfort, deliverance, encouragement, healing to their souls, their minds, their bodies, their emotions. Help them STAND as one with You against the hatred, lies, and evil strategies attempting to destroy them.

Bless them with eyes to see You going before them, unfailing, invincible, unwavering. Faithfully true. A pillar of strength and holiness. A glorious, Holy Fire of righteousness and justice.

Lift them up, speak gently to their souls, wooing them to your WORD, to Yeshua, who has covered them with the highest gift of love . . . Himself.

Tear down her enemies, shut the mouth of the snake. May the world see that you are the King of kings, the God above all, the Redeemer of Israel, and may they fall to their knees, trembling before you. In the name of the Messiah of Israel, Yeshua.

Mary heeded the call for a nursing career and has done well in her studies so far—even with four children and a hubby whose work takes him away two days a week. But now she must be at a facility for the 16-month core nursing program phase. We need God to make a way for her to complete the calling so kiddos are protected, babysat, properly housed, and where family and nursing demands flow well.

PRAYER. God’s Provision. Bountiful Resources. Cleared Path. Behold The Great I AM! All things are in His hands . . . the God of Israel who parted the sea, made a way in the wilderness, brought forth manna from Heaven and water out of a rock. Blessed is your Name! Adonai, please reveal your love and power in this situation. You alone know the details, latest housing challenges, and all the rest. Move in your might so Mary and her family are overwhelmed by your wonder and your caring for their needs. Reveal yourself in new ways that bolster their faith. And may what you’ve appointed her to do will be completed by Your Hand, Your Purpose, Your Glory. In Yeshua’s Name.

Major shifting for L.Q. who is a longtime believer—but life is not easy as a single mom and gets compounded by health issues. She needs God to step into her life in huge ways . . . for housing, work, ministry leading, children concerns, and more.

PRAYER. God’s Direction. His Intervention. His Calming Hand. Gracious Father, may your Name be an anointing oil poured out over L.Q. And may your waterfall of glory flow through her life uninterrupted, cleansing the murky waters and binding the enemy’s disruptions. Please usher in clear thinking aligned with you, healing on all levels, and release a steady stream of tranquility on her and her family no matter what is going on around her. Be glorified, Lord. I am afflicted and needy; Hurry to me, God! You are my help and my savior; Lord, do not delay.

Three vital needs submitted by one of our fellow prayer warriors:

Her dear friend Erica has visited church before but isn’t saved. May God woo her heart.

Another friend of hers—Laura—needs our prayer support big time: Laura’s mother (not saved) is battling stage 4 cancer. Meanwhile, Laura’s son Marlon (25 years old and saved) is tempted to return to marijuana for his PTSD. He previously had completed a drug-deliverance course. These days, he stays at home, no desire to get out of bed many days. Laura’s heart is broken.

Compounding that, Laura’s husband Luigi wants a divorce. Allegedly, he feigned salvation so she’d marry him. His deception along with her son and mother’s issues are overwhelming.

PRAYER. God’s Shalom. His Justice. His Healing on all levels. Almighty God, Prince of Peace, Righteous Judge, step into Laura’s life, home, and those she loves. Stir hearts toward you. Expose lies so they may lead to repentance.

For Laura’s mom and Erica, we ask that you open their eyes and soul to the truth of Yeshua and their need for salvation. May His name be on their lips and come alive in their hearts casting out all holds the enemy placed there. And may your mercies, healing, and grace fall on her mother’s health.

For Marlon, we ask that you strengthen his soul. Remind him of your goodness, your power, your character, and the eternity up ahead. Bind the enemy’s influence, set this captive free in the Name of Yeshua, the Name Above ALL Names.

For Laura, we ask for you to wrap your arms around your daughter, letting her weep on your chest, knowing that you are aware and holding every tear in your faithful, loving hands. Abba, speak healing and restoration to her soul and life that eclipses the betrayal Luigi caused. And may you pierce his heart with the love and truth of the Gospel, bringing him to repentance before your throne. We ask for calm and rightness in this family by the name of our Messiah, Yeshua.

Her heart meds are working well and her medical issue is being handled. She’s seeking God’s continued favor and protection.

Make your way clear, undeniable, filled with your grace and heavenly strength. Rise up within her . . . lead her, gird her, flood her with your Presence and love that are like no other. Andrea is seeking God’s direction on how to better handle her daily life while on treatment for stage 4 breast cancer so she can be blessed with an enhanced quality of life.

Abba, she is in your hands, secured by your love, guarded, strengthened. Please reveal the next steps so she can have a reprieve but keep the cancer shrunk/inactive as it is. But with a word from you, even that will be gone. All things are in your hand. May your Words of Life revive her, restore her, bless her in unexpected ways. Our hearts are heavy. You are all we have, Lord. What can we pray but your holy name, Yeshua? May it be the very breath within her at all times. In Yeshua’s fragrant Name.

One of our prayer partners submitted Charlene’s name. Charlene recently learned she has breast cancer and will undergo chemo and then surgery in the summer.

We’ve prayed for Vee in the past . . . she’s in her senior years, a wonderful mother/grandmother, and dealing daily with her returned cancer, which has spread. It’s physically and emotionally draining. She needs God’s covering and our prayer support.

PRAYER. God’s Comfort. His Spirit. His Strength. Lord God, You whose name is mercy, please give Vee a special touch from your hand. Words of life that lift her soul. Heavenly Hope that carries her through each moment . . . and sweet reminders of the promise of what lies ahead for those in Christ Jesus. Bless her with your Presence, strength, and healing touch. I.B. has bladder cancer and is to begin a unique treatment this month. Uncertainty and nervousness are at high levels, quite understandably. She needs God’s strength and mercy throughout this lengthy treatment—able to tolerate the process without incident—and she needs salvation under the cross of Yeshua.

PRAYER. God’s Healing intervention. His Salvation. His Chesed. Abba, only you truly direct our paths. Please reach out to I.B. so she can find rest in your Name, find comfort in your faithfulness, and witness your divine intervention for your glory. And please help her hubby to tend to every need, giving the sweet support she’ll need. And may she come to know the loving, mighty hand of your salvation gift in Yeshua. We prayed for her/two daughters to get new housing. Answered prayer! But now they’re under spiritual enemy attack and need us to battle in prayer for their divine coverage.

PRAYER. God’s hand. His power. His Word. Lord, help us to stand with Josie in faith, the strongest spiritual weapon we have to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We believe in the power of the cross, its conquering Spirit to overcome he who is in the world. Abba, please bind the mouth of those threatening her, those using witchcraft to come against her and her family. May the brilliance of Your robes fall upon Josie and the girls, protecting them, hemming them in, an impenetrable fortress. In Jesus’s sweet, powerful Name that is above ALL others.

We’re standing firm in continued prayer for Michael who has had some relief and doing better (Praise God and His goodness!) from the long-term troubling health conditions and their effects on his spiritual, emotional, mental life.

PRAYER. The Light of the World. God’s Light of life. His lamp on our path. Adonai, call out to the depths of Michael’s soul with soothing words, healing words, words of deliverance and strength. Cast out any darkness and flood his soul with your holy, pure light. Maureen was sick on/off during the holidays and now has RSV. She now is developing a symptom that may cause her to be hospitalized. We need God’s grace and intervention.

SPECIAL MESSAGE

 

While writing this prayer post, the ticking of the second hand on my Star-of-David clock becomes more evident. Invading my quiet time. Capturing my attention. Time slipping away . . . a reminder of our finite world.

 

We are in the month of Elul (29 days) on the Hebrew calendar, a precious time heralding a 40-day preparation period (29 days on through the Ten Days of Awe–High Holy Days, Rosh Hashana to the close of Yom Kippur).
 

These 40 days of Elul/Days of Awe are regarded as a special time of God’s mercy: Yemei Ratzon, Days of his favor.

 

The back story: The third time Moses ascended Mount Sinai was around 1313 BCE, taking with him the second set of stone tablets per God’s directive.

 

Moses camped out 40 days on the mountain from the beginning of Elul to the tenth of Tishrei (Yom Kippur)—where God re-engraved the Ten Commandments and forgave Israel’s idolatrous Golden Calf debacle, which occurred just three months after God delivered them from Egyptian captivity.

 

Yep, downhill spiritual slides can happen blindingly fast. There’s a lesson in that. Let’s take heed.

 

ELUL: HOW TO EXPERIENCE IT

 

Typically Psalm 27 (among others) are read daily. The shofar is blown/heard daily (listen online, if needed) and symbolizes an alarm, a warning that the King our God is “in the field”—meaning that He is approachable and we need to get our souls realigned on many counts, within and without.

 

Elul is a 40-day window of introspection, honest reflection before God, repentance (turning from all those not-so-good bits), teshuva (returning to God and his ways), service to Him and others, worship, fasting, seeking forgiveness from those we have wronged (and certainly taking spiritual stock that we have indeed forgiven those who have harmed/hurt us).

 

Some people journal their spiritual moments and take weeklong exploratory dives into key topics like justice, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, etc.

 

May your time be revealing, healing, genuinely transformational before our King. And may it lay the groundwork for a deeper spiritual course where you’ll be inscribed and sealed for a good year.

I would have fainted had I not believed (had faith) that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Hope (wait with expectancy) for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait (expectantly) for the Lord!

 

The Rusch family (Nick/Kristen with their baby) are serving in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, discipling local church leaders while reinvesting and building relationships with the Persian, Tajik, and Domari peoples.

 

Uzbekistan is a closed nation—largely Muslim. Per Open Door, any Christian who converts from Islam faces increased pressure from their family and community. These converts may be beaten or expelled from their communities.” They can be fined for meeting “illegally,” possessing religious literature, or having Christian songs on their smartphones, etc.

 

Mighty God, there is none like you, none above you. No one can reverse your acts. You are Righteous, Holy, Justice, Redeemer. Please blanket the Rusch family with your protection, wisdom, provision, mercy. Cloak them and the Uzbekistan Christians under your wings, hidden from the persecutions and raiding parties. Glorious Father, please turn events so restrictions against your church in Uzbekistan are removed. Help your young church there to grow and mature in your Word through solid discipleship. LORD, you’ve been stirring the hearts of people in Iran toward you, please continue to allow the seeds of the Gospel to blanket the entire Persian world and rise like a bright beacon of your love and truth in our Messiah Jesus. In His Name we pray.

We’re at another crossroads. One of our prayer warriors (Marilouise) had our nation and Israel on her heart, which I’m sure echos within all of us.

Help us, LORD OF HOSTS, to cleanse our hearts and hands before you. Help this nation to humble itself, turn to God, and pray for forgiveness, turning away from wicked things and turning toward the truth of the Word. Abba, help our leaders, citizens, church leaders to recognize Israel as the apple of God’s eye, pray for her, and stand firm with Israel, who will never be destroyed. What you have declared, Precious King, will be done. No one can reverse your works, declarations, promises. In Jesus’s holy Name.

September 30 surgery date. From our prior prayer list, we’re interceding for Jeanelle’s hysterectomy, after diagnostics showed an abnormality in the uterus.

Majestic King your eye is on your daughter who has walked faithfully with you for years. Let her see the greatness of your hand in this, in unexpected, wondrous ways. From start to finish, may your Name be lifted up, be exalted, pre-surgery, during the surgery, and throughout the healing and recovery process. In Jesus’s brilliant Name, Messiah, our Reward.

UPDATE! Her October 10 operation is now uncertain because preliminary diagnostics revealed an enlarged heart and blockages in the right and left branches. From our prior prayer list, Bernie has been preparing for a hip replacement procedure–and is still waiting now with this latest update.

King of Life, Sustainer of Life, may your arms envelop Bernie and bathe her in your comfort with songs from your Holy Spirit washing over her and running through her soul, calming and reviving her. Please release wisdom and understanding to her doctors and medical team and help them hear you and follow your lead even if they do not know you. Let nothing be done apart from your righteous will and your perfect timing. In Jesus’s powerful Name.

Jeremiah 17:14

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise.

October 22 surgery date. Shirl has fluid on the brain and is now wheelchair-bound. She’s had to endure for a while, waiting for a surgery date to remove the fluid and get her walking again. Shirl has fought breast cancer in the past and knows the power of God to step in.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, you hear our cries, you see our challenges and discouragements. You, the Great I Am, please step forward again and bless this upcoming surgery down to the infinitesimal details for Shirl’s complete recovery. And may you, precious King, get ALL the glory and honor. In Jesus’s sweet Name, the NAME above ALL names.

For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

From prior prayer lists: Michael remains in great need. He’s struggling emotionally and spiritually amid mental health and physical issues. His battle is intense.

You, LORD, are the only one whose Name is Lovingkindness, a Mighty Deliverer, Life-giver. Michael needs your presence to overtake this situation, every aspect, every illness, every demonic hold and influence, every milligram of hopelessness, every nanosecond of despair and tiredness. Jesus, may your cross of healing and deliverance radiate from within Michael and may your transformational power be witnessed, evident, freeing and honored. Praise your Name, King of kings, Lord of lords.

Psalm 27:5

For he will hide me in his tabernacle (in his shelter) in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the hidden places of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.

While caring for her mother-in-law who was battling cancer (and recently died), Debbie, a new believer in Christ in her 60s, learned that she herself has cancer and immediately had a hysterectomy. But doctors are puzzled by some things and sending her results to City of Hope and Sloan Kettering for expert opinions.

Thank you, King Jesus, for revealing to Debbie your Messiahship and the redemption eternal gift of the cross. Oh, Precious Savior, how much this little lamb is going through. Please draw close to her, let your Holy Spirit shelter her, your sweet presence palatable, comforting, guiding. Release wisdom to the doctors and, please, supernaturally part the troubled waters and usher in your healing and love like a mighty river. In Jesus’s sweet Name.

On the day I called, You answered me; You embolden me, you put strength in my soul.

Kim is the point person in her family, caring for the needs of aging parents, her own family, her church needs. Caregivers and care-doers need help too—and their work is a worship before the LORD.

Blessed Redeemer, you’ve gifted Kim with a heart to help in many directions. May you now gift her with times of rest and recovery, and please breathe your strength, wisdom, fiscal blessings, on her and her family. May you rise up within her and let her soul hear your gentle fatherly voice and be comforted. In Jesus’s glorious Name.

From Hebrew: Hear, O Lord, when my voice cries out; be gracious to me and answer me! For you (your behalf), my heart (heard you say), “Seek (strive for, search out) My face.” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Hide not your face from me.

Miss Brown needs God’s urgent intervention—financial assistance for the immediate and upcoming needs, covering her out-of-state move and other needs for her and her children.

I see the word TRUST . . . Abba, we know you’re moving in this situation. Your promises are steadfast. Your character true, above all others. None are like you. Please level every mountain, every obstacle, every interference in this situation so your will flows on a clear path, your words and desires accomplished. And so everything—from basic necessities to more profound needs—are handled. Thank you, for you are our Shepherd who hears and knows our needs and uses all things for your glory. Mary broke her wrist in two places and then got Covid while in rehab. Compounding things, she’s at high risk because of her stage 4 liver cancer.

Merciful King, please cover Mary with your Name, your Presence, your encouragement, your healing. You who are the Rock, Exalted, Steadfast and True, may you fill her to overflowing with your goodness and strength. In Jesus’s holy name.

 

#12. Carmella & Family

Lamentations 3:24

The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,“therefore I will hope in him.”

Carmella was widowed earlier this year and now has to pick up roots and move to the other side of the country—but thankfully near her daughter. Still, major moves and deep life changes are soul-rocking. Amidst that, her siblings are having their own sorrows and hardships: her sister Jo-Jo and family (husband died earlier this year), her brother Chuck has had a long battle with stage 4 cancer but is handling treatment, and her brother Vito’s wife has dementia that is worsening.

We bow before you, Glorious King. No one can help us but you—all power and glory belong to you alone. Humbly, we ask for your arms to gather this extended family and cover them in the shelter of your loving wings. Please speak truth, hope, rest, comfort, and the beauty of your ways to their souls . . . and let your love rain down upon them along their journey with and in you. Be magnified, Holy One, be magnified so they are reassured of your presence with them. In Jesus’ wondrous name.

O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, because all that we have done, you have done for us. (CJB)

Marcus lives with his two brothers in their family house. But there’s a potential move ahead to sell the property, an issue for some.

LORD, it’s your desire, your will, that we seek. May these brothers not move hastily but inquire of you and follow your lead. You know their individual needs and the impact this will have one way or another. Please, ABBA, speak peace over them and the situation so however this unfolds, it is by your calm, gentle hand so unity among the brothers prevails and your ways are high and lifted up. In your Name, Lord Jesus, we pray.

 

#14. Andrea & Roger

Isaiah 26:3-4

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he TRUSTS in you. Trust the LORD forever for the LORD GOD is an EVERLASTING ROCK.

Despite major health issues—stage 4 breast cancer and knees/stomach problems—Andrea and Roger are taking a quick vacation this month, a gift from her son.

Your kindness overwhelms us, LORD. Thank you for this gift so Andrea and Roger can have respite from the daily concerns. May you stretch out your garments and protect them and her son/daughter-in-law along their travels. And may it be filled with rest, restoration, refreshment—and a calm in their souls. In Jesus’s magnificent Name.

Psalm 36:10

Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart!

From our prior list: Vee has been battling cancer many times. Now in her senior years, the cancer has returned and spread to her liver and elsewhere. Many days she prays for Jesus to call her home to Him.

Sweet Shepherd, our Deliverer, let your strength and mercy rain down from your throne and envelope Vee in this difficult, draining fight. Carry her in your arms, help her to feel your comforting presence, and cover her with your shalom (completeness and a peace not of this world). In Jesus’s glorious Name and power we pray.

In all their troubles he was troubled; then the Angel of His Presence saved them; in his love and pity he redeemed them

Jim is a diabetic who has been hospitalized with streptococcus. He needs God’s intervention, encouragement, healing.

Holy, Magnificent King, look down upon Jim and all his troubles. Envelope him through every moment, covering him with your garment of healing and strength, reminding him of your Word, your love, your redemption gift in Jesus. And in our Messiah’s name, we pray.

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Mary is in the thralls of getting her nursing degree—while raising four little ones and while her hubby is working hard outside the home, away at times. Daily life can get exhausting. Strength, encouragement, fellowship with other young couples in the Lord.

LORD, even when we follow your lead, hardships surround us. May you encourage Mary with your words and fellowship from other young Christian couples. Give her restful sleep and release strength in her mind, body, soul. Protect her children and husband, and continue to guide her in all things for your glory. In Jesus’s sweet Name.

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.

From our prior prayer list: Allie has been diagnosed with bone cancer. The suddenness of this unexpected life turn is jarring.

LORD GOD MOST HIGH, cover Allie with your garment of comfort. Release healing from your throne according to your will. May the excellence of your ways be evident in every medical treatment and care . . . and we seek your supernatural intervention for your glory and Allie’s good.
