The definitive spiritual line in the sand. That’s what ran through my mind these last two weeks after speaking with a young man who was working as a Chippendale-esque dancer on Las Vegas’s Fremont Experience, a nine-block domed, noisy entertainment sector, offering everything from zip lining and musical performances to photo ops with scantily clad showgirls and bare-chested, buffed males in drawstring pants who lure to perform and perform to lure.
He and his muscular busker cohorts were enticing women (particularly older ones) with free Mardi Gras-ish necklaces, tempting them to go in the tent-like structure for a special “dance.”
The Holy Spirit had highlighted this particular young man (and afterward, two others) to share about the Lord. The demonic sway over them and that place was heavy. No sooner had I begun to speak—while holding a cartooned-character-covered gospel tract—when the young man turned his head away and muttered something.
“What did you say? I couldn’t hear you.”
He turned toward me but with eyes focused elsewhere. “I’m already a Christian.”
At that, my soul ached. He was a captive. And now, a swayer . . . a swayer being swayed. Yet he belonged to God, per his Christian profession. And he seemingly didn’t know he was walking on a slippery slope, veiled by a deceiving spirit.
A few more words transpired between us and then I turned to the one working near him. He stood firm, ignored my questions, turned away and said he was working. Until this happened . . .
“Jesus loves you,” I said, totally unplanned.
He turned toward me and quietly said, “Thank you.” Then turned away again.
The Lord had me say one last thing to him before leaving: “Jesus died for you.”
Later, further up, I saw two other male dancers where I was led to speak with the one while the other occasionally listened.
The common denominators in these men: the weighty demonic sway over them, the manipulating spirit using them to entice others, and their bodily reaction when confronted with the Lord and His holiness. The enemy hates the Lord’s name, character, ways, and truth. And he really detests when God sends His believers into his darkened territory. Believe me, the Fremont Street Experience is definitely one of the enemy’s hot playgrounds.
Despite that, the love of God turns the hearts of humanity. Case in point, the second stalwart dancer who turned to momentarily respond to the Lord’s love call.
A few days later while reading the Word at home, the epistle Paul wrote to Timothy regarding people’s mindset in the end times underscored how the demonic realm was using these men in this hour:
2 Timothy 3:1-2, 5-7
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
For people will be . . .
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power
avoid such people as these.
For among them are those who slip into households and
captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,
always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Our walks are perilous at times. No matter who we are or our length of time in the Lord, compromises, off-kilter biblical teaching, worldview entrapments, our old sin nature/sensual impulses, and the enemy’s dominion of darkness can disrupt our spiritual thinking and water down our relationship with our Holy King.
The Call: May we be like the prophet Samuel who wouldn’t stop interceding in prayer for wayward Israel . . . and likewise, may we heed the words of Jude to rescue the wayward from the fire.
Lord, stir our souls to weep and cry out to you on behalf of prodigals, wayward-thinking sisters and brothers, and others gripped by the enemy’s web of lies.

Far be it from me that I would sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you;
but I will instruct you in the good and right way.
Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart;
for consider what great things He has done for you.

ALERT #1. TONI
Psalm 31:3
For You are my rock and my fortress;
For the sake of Your name You will lead me and guide me.
Request: Toni, a type 1 diabetic, is about to be released (April 24) after being in ICU for several days–her blood sugar levels were through the roof before admission and are now more stabilized. She needs the right treatment approach and God’s healing for continued blood sugar stability (which includes her following a better nutrition and exercise plan). She also seeks the Lord for help with her memory and living situation.
Prayer: God’s covering, healing, grace. Abba, your daughter needs your garment of healing to restore and stabilize her body on several levels. Bring wisdom and understanding to her medical team. Please have your Word rise up in her soul, encouraging her and casting out fear, depression, disappointment, worry—leading her in all decision-making going forward. In Yeshua’s powerful, grace-filled name.
ALERT #2. THOMAS & FAMILY
Proverbs 28:13
Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
Request: Angry, rebellious, prodigal, scared. Thomas is up for an arraignment soon and needs God’s intervention on many levels. The strain on his family is tremendous—he legally cannot contact them, so they are unable to reach out and walk with him during this fiery ordeal.
Prayer: A Proverbs 2 about-face. May Thomas discern righteousness, justice, and integrity, and every good path. And may your wisdom, Mighty King, enter his heart so knowledge will be delightful to his soul. Abba, please move in his life so discretion watches over him and understanding guards him.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.
Request: Pat received medical results this week that confirmed the tumor that was removed is bladder cancer. Prayers for successful treatment and God’s grace and healing.
Prayer: God’s presence. Gracious Father, please stretch out your arms and draw Pat closer to you in faith and in your Word. Call forth medical accuracy and excellence as your love pours through Pat and his family. Release healing from your throne, God of Life, for your glory and Pat’s walk with you. In Jesus’s redemptive Name.

When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches, for You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
Request: Ev is grateful for all those who have been praying for her. May 14 is the cardiology appointment to discuss next steps after the heart monitor results are in. She’s praying that a pacemaker isn’t needed.
Prayer: All fear cast out. King of kings, Lord of Lords, please walk closely beside your daughter Evelyn, allowing the fragrance of Heaven to comfort her, calm her, encourage her. Lord, if it’s in line with your will, please let your mercy cover this situation so a pacemaker isn’t needed. Yet at every step of this and her life, let her know deep within her soul your immense love for her. In Jesus’s healing name.

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
Request: Marietta is a longtime Christian in her 90s who still is mightily serving the Lord. But she’s been in ICU recently and not doing well. Throughout her life, Marietta has been a blessing to many—being a beloved spiritual mother and grandmother. Please join those loving and honoring her by seeking God’s grace on behalf of this precious saint who has lived faithfully before her King.
Prayer: God’s steadfast love. Gentle, loving Father, we stand on your Word and character that says “With the faithful, You show Yourself faithful” (Psalm 18:25a). Remind Marietta and those crying out on her behalf that you promise to be her strength—you who are her Rock, her Fortress, her Savior. Be that holy refuge for her now, and please, my King, raise her up with your healing hand. In Yeshua’s Name above All Names.
ALERT #6. ABIGAIL
Psalm 32:7
You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Request: Elementary-schooled Abigail needs God to move mightily, in her walk with Him and her daily life. She is ping-ponged between divorced parents—a loving, Christian mom and a dad who doesn’t walk with God. She studies God’s Word and prays but must learn not to manipulate the situation for her means but to trust and honor God in and through it all.
Prayer: Perseverance in God’s ways. Sweet King, teach Abigail’s soul about your faithfulness and love, how she can rely 100% on your handling every detail, every situation. Help her walk in honesty and the way she should go, honoring you and her parents. Pull her closer, Lord. In Yeshua’s Holy Name.
ALERT #7. TWO DIFFERENT/SIMILAR SITUATIONS: ERIC & JOSIE/DAUGHTERS
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
Request: Eric, a Christian, was beat up a few weeks ago at a gas station and needs God’s supernatural protection. Similarly, Josie and her two daughters (early teens) need God’s physical/spiritual covering from threatening notes left on their door and verbal threats to kill them—a neighbor said the person leaving the note had a gun.
Prayer: God, our Defender. Lord of the battle, speak to Eric, Josie, and her two daughters, instilling in them your nearness, your watchfulness, your ministry of protection. Cancel and cast down all those the enemy has sent and is sending to frighten them, harm, and disrupt their lives. Speak, my King, from your throne on their behalf and it will be done. In Yeshua’s Glorious Name.
UPDATE #8. CAYSON
Psalm 36:7
How precious is Your mercy, God! And the sons of mankind take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
Request: Eight-year-old Cayson is doing much better—no more pain or vomiting. Thank you all for your prayers in late March. However a pediatric GI consult discovered a cyst on his diaphragm (not liver as previously thought). We need God to shed his revelation and wisdom on the doctors of how to proceed.
Prayer: Garment of healing. There is NONE like you, precious Father. You are high and lifted up, holy and magnificent. May your majesty be released into this situation so Cayson’s family know when and how to move forward. We ask for this cyst to be harmless with no need for operations or meds, if it’s in your will. Wrap Cayson in your healing love, your Presence of Life. In Yeshua’s Name, the Truth, the Life, the Way.

Request: More good news–Tony who we’ve prayed for (gallbladder cancer) has put on weight, is home, and doing better. Please keep the prayer support going—the family is greatly appreciative.
Prayer: God’s ongoing healing. Gracious King, Sustainer of Life, we continue to ask for the healing power of the cross to be released within Tony. We seek your face and divine intervention for every health concern with this cancer. Please cover Tony with your protection, your strength, your endless love . . . and draw him and his family even further into your holy tent where there is rest, healing, and joy in You. In Jesus’s incomparable Name.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
Request: Vee has been called up to her King after a long bout of cancer. Thank you for your prayers at various times over this last year or so. Please pray for God’s comfort over Vee’s family—it’s unclear if they are all believers.
Prayer: God of comfort. Thank you, Lord, for making yourself and your salvation message known to Vee so she is now in your presence. Please speak to her family, comforting them and bringing the Good News of your Kingdom to their souls. Remove the veil from their spiritual eyes so they see you and rejoice. All for your Glory! Request: God is moving in Rachel’s life, getting her attention to draw her back to Him.
Prayer: God’s perfect love. Lord, give Rachel a hunger for your Word, a love that pants after you, a mind that searches your ways, and a soul that trembles at your Name. Deliver her from the sway of the enemy working directly or through others. Guide her soul in making decisions based on Your will, your Word, your ways. Let Yeshua rise up in her soul and overpower her life so she doesn’t conform to this world but is transformed by the renewing of her mind in Christ Jesus. In His Majestic Name.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Request: At 90, Ellie is a widow and seeking God’s insights, counting on his faithfulness to get her through and make the right decisions going forward, from where to live and how to make the transitions. And she’s still dealing with the grief of losing one of her dear sons to cancer last August.
Prayer: God’s restoration. You are holy and mighty, Lord, beyond our comprehension. Let your life-giving love redirect Ellie, let it restore the joy of life, the joy of knowing you vs looking at the natural only. Shower her with your presence, wisdom, direction from your throne so her life may be filled to overflowing in your holy goodness. May your shalom arise within and around her, birthing spiritual, physical, emotional healing. In Yeshua’s loving Name.

For on the day of trouble He will conceal me in His. tabernacle; He will hide me in the secret place of His tent; He will lift me up on a rock.
Request: F., in her 80s, has had a long road to haul, health-wise. She still has daily issues that wear her out, but she is a strong believer in the Lord, our Messiah. F. seeks God’s encouragement and strength.
Prayer: God is with me. Mighty Rock of our salvation, let encouragement arise in your daughter, who through it all has had a fearless faith in you. As she turns once again to you, please turn your face of grace, mercy, healing, love to her. Bless her with spiritually discerning eyes to see your goodness amid the rocky roads that will make her soul smile and rest in you at those times. Prayer: Light up my path. Oh, you are a great Revealer, Lord, not leaving us as orphans but indwelling us with the gift of the Holy Spirit when we accept Jesus as our Messiah. Help Jess become fine-tuned to your voice, learned in your Word, a walker of your ways. Shine your holy beam on her life, magnifying the path she needs to take to please you and fulfill her purpose per your will, using all the creative passion you’ve blessed her with. Request: Mary—a Christian, a wife, and a mother of four (ages 2 to 15)—desires a renewal of faith for her and her family, more time in the Word and fellowship. As well as strength and God’s intervention regarding the barrage of financial attacks they’ve been enduring.
Prayer: Grounded in His Word. Blessed are those who take refuge in you, Lord. Continue to draw Mary and her family before you, seeking your face, searching your Word, committed to walking rightly and lovingly with you. Help them designate family time centered on your Word and fellowship with the right church family. Guard them under your wings, far away from the enemy’s meddling influence. Let your Holy Spirit arise in this family—in their spiritual, emotional, physical, intellectual, fiscal lives. In Yeshua’s Glorious Name.

Request:. Kim is the rock in her family and her church. But that can take a great toll on even the strongest among us. She needs God’s rest and gentle redirection in all matters of her life.
Prayer: God’s covering. The name of the Lord is a strong tower—the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). Abba, help Kim and her family race to your Presence, your holy tower of rest and safety. Redirect, re-align, restore them wherever needed to ease their lives and mightily jump life’s hurdles. Let praise for you arise from deep within their souls so they are abundantly flowing in your goodness and mercy. In Jesus’s powerful Name.

Request: Kristine/Andrea/Charlene are battling breast cancer; Kari is battling a female-related cancer; I.B. is battling bladder cancer. All need God’s strength, mercies, healing, encouragement.
Prayer: Mercies upon mercies. Your strength, O Lord, is what we seek for these five women who each day face the lion. Speak life, usher in healing, flood them with mercy and grace at every turn, every second of the day. And comfort their souls in the thick of the night . . . and in the heat of the day. Help them keep their minds and souls fixed on you, your deeds of old and now, for your way, O God is holy. In Yeshua’s precious Name.

Request: The Lord woke one of our prayer warriors during the night with a burden for those suffering from autism and spectrum disorders. She said that one man with severe autism described his disorder as a silent prison. It broke her heart.
Prayer: Grace and mercy. Abba, you ache when we ache. May you send a great healing on those suffering with spectrum disorder, those in deep need, and make a way where none has been for them to live better, stronger, calmer in you. Please release the answers, strategies, treatments through your mighty hand to bring relief, to bring your deliverance and a way to walk productively in this world, spiritually right before you. Capture their tears in your loving hands, stilling the noise in their minds and souls, releasing your shalom in its place. In Jesus’s Saving Name.

Request: Strengthening, spiritual stability, continued healing from the long-term troubling health conditions and their effects on his spiritual, emotional, mental life.
Prayer: A strong foundation. Lord, you know the long battle Michael has endured. May your love and total healing—emotionally, spiritually, physically—be brought forth. Where there is darkness in his soul, speak Light. Where there is doubt and hopelessness, breathe unwavering faith and encouragement. Where there is lack of any kind, usher in your fulfillment. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
Request: We are continuing the prayer need for this Jewish mother and daughter. Arly for serious health issues—significantly low hemoglobin 6.1 (anemia) and a painful kidney stone and RA (rheumatoid arthritis). And her soon-to-turn-18 Kayla needs prayer for painful gastro/stomach issues and wisdom for upcoming educational decisions.
Prayer: intro. You have shown your steadfast love and unparalleled faithfulness to Israel from the beginning. Please usher healing under your wings to Arly and Kayla, restoring their health, strengthening their faith in you. Lift them up and hide them in the shelter of your sacred tent, setting them high upon the Rock. (Psalm 27:5). Guide Kayla’s every step as she seeks your will, not her own, so you are glorified. Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord . . . Yeshua.
